Steps to increase Alkalinity

1. Eat mostly Alkaline Forming Foods.  A good ratio is 80% alkaline foods and 20% acid foods.   Stay away from Acid Forming Foods.

2. Supplement your diet with alkaline minerals. The main alkaline minerals in the body are calcium, magnesium, sodium and potassium. Use vitamin D for proper absorption. 

3.  Replace table salt with Sea Salt.

4.  Exercise, reduce stress, or learn meditation.

5.  Improve digestion by including fresh fruit high in enzymes including: papaya or pineapple, or a supplement with these ingredients.  Supplement your diet with freshly made fruit and vegetable juices.       

6.   Drink eight 8 oz. glasses of filtered or mineral water a day. Add the juice of a lemon to make lemon water.

7.  Malic acid removes aluminum from the body. Malic acid is found in apples and apple cider vinegar.

8. Proper kidney function is essential to good health. All nutrients in the blood are filtered out by the kidneys.  Omega 3 essential oil, fish oil or flax oil is helpful.

9. Supplemental B vitamins including: folic acid, B6 and B12.  They improve oxygen utilization within cells which reduces lactic acid formation, thereby increasing the alkalinity of the body. Vitamin B12 is needed for a healthy nervous system.

10.   Celiac disease is an intestinal disorder that disrupts the ability to absorb calcium and vitamin D as well as other nutrients.  Celiac disease is the result of intolerance to the gluten in wheat, rye, and barley.  Oats were thought to contain some gluten because they were processed in machines that also processed wheat.  Gluten is the protein part of wheat, rye, and barley.  Following a gluten-free diet may improve both digestion and bone density. Gluten-free grains include:  corn, potato, rice, soybeans, tapioca, arrowroot, carob, buckwheat, millet, oat, amaranth and quinoa.  Read food labels carefully.

11. Unhealthy intestinal bacteria and yeasts, also called Candida Overgrowth, excrete lactic acid and turn the blood acidic. The intestines are inflamed and less able to absorb nutrients.  Recommendations include: consuming a healthy yogurt with a probiotic and garlic or supplements.

12.  Bacteria or fungus may be causing sickness or disease.  Strengthen the immune system with a healthy diet or use an herbal antibiotic.
